Colon Hydrotherapy Preparation

You will need to complete your paperwork online before you arrive for your appointment. Once you schedule an appoint you will recive the forms to fill out in your confirmation email.
When you come in for your first appointment we will discuss what you hope to accomplish through colon hydrotherapy.

There are a number of things you can do to prepare for an excellent colon hydrotherapy session such as:
On the day of your session eat light and drink plenty of water.
Avoid eating 2 hours before the colon hydrotherapy appointment.
Drink 16 to 32 ounces of vegetable juice. Even if you don’t have an appointment we would recommend that you do this every day. Vegetable juice is absolutely amazing for our bodies. Juice is like soap and the colon hydrotherapy is like the shower. It helps to loosen waste in the body. Ask us about the juice products we have on hand.

A few days before the appointment eat as many water content foods as possible, some examples are: raw and cooked green leafy vegetables, vegetable broth and raw vegetable drinks. This will start hydrating the colon to ease your experience.
Eat a large raw salad before every meal. Raw fiber acts like a broom that brushes through our intestines, sweeping out all of that unwanted debris.

Eat simple, properly combined meals to make digestion more efficient. This will help to reduce gas, bloating, and acid indigestion. For example, eat fruit alone. Eat veggies with a protein or a starch, but never starches or carbs with protein.

Avoid eating late at night. Try not to eat 2-3 hours before bed.

The greater the distance between the last meal and your treatment the better. It’s best to eat lightly and to stay hydrated. Water is necessary to sustain fluidity of blood.

After Your Session
Colon hydrotherapy has a truly relieving effect. You should have a feeling of lightness, and clarity of mind soon after the session is finished. Many people have reported heightened energy, a renewed sense of wellbeing, and vitality after a colon hydrotherapy session.
After the session, we will evaluate progress and determine if any further sessions would be beneficial.
If it takes a long time to restore the bowel, it indicates that the colon has accumulated unduly large amounts of waste over a period of many years. It may require a series of sessions to soften up and flush out all the waste.
It is beneficial to take a probiotic and drink 1-2 glasses of water after your session. You can eat a piece of fruit or some freshly prepared vegetable juice ½ hour later. The first one or two meals after the treatment should be light, like a salad or some vegetable broth.
Since the cleansing will stir up a lot of old debris and toxins, you might experience some minor fatigue. If any discomfort occurs, it is recommended to rest and apply a warm heating pad to the abdomen. A mild vegetable broth or peppermint tea is soothing. Any discomfort will usually pass within 24 hours.
Avoid food items such as meat, eggs, cheese, fried or processed foods, gluten, sugar, carbonated drinks, nuts, popcorn, dried fruit. etc.

Management
One colon hydrotherapy session may be equivalent to having several regular bowel movements. As you continue colon hydrotherapy, future sessions can prove to be even more effective as the older, harder mucus coated feces are softened and dislodged from the colon walls.
An initial series of 3 colon hydrotherapy sessions is recommended. After you do a series of three, a maintenance plan of one session per week may be recommended.

Recent research has revealed the critical role that digestion and gut health plays on our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Imbalances in the levels of bacteria and microflora in the gut, as well as poor digestion, absorption, assimilation and elimination, can weaken the immune system and lead to inflammatory diseases. Eventually, as the colon becomes cleaner, you may experience more frequent, fuller, easier eliminations, which may improve your overall health.
