A parasite is an organism that lives inside another organism and benefits by getting nutrients from the host at the host's expense. There are several parasite related diseases and illnesses that can wreak havoc on the health and wellness of humans. Often parasites enter through the mouth and can remain in the intestine or burrow through the intestinal wall and invade other organs. Some parasites can enter directly through the skin.
